These terms cover your use of Trekking Armory, a planning tool for hikers and trekkers run by Applied Arts Software. By using the site, or by connecting an AI assistant to your account, you agree to them.
Your account
You sign in with Google or Facebook. Keep that account secure: what happens under your sign-in is your responsibility. Trekking Armory is free to use.
Your content
You own the gear lists, backpacks, trails and events you create. When you publish something to the community, you let us show it to other visitors for as long as it stays published. Publish only what you have the right to share.
Acceptable use
Do not use the site to break the law, harass people, post spam or misleading content, or disrupt the service. Do not scrape it at scale or work around its limits. We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules.
AI assistants
You can connect Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant to your account. It acts for you within the access you grant on the consent page, so check what it proposes before you agree to a change. You can disconnect it at any time. The assistant itself is governed by its provider’s terms.
Plan with care
Weights, temperature ratings, forecasts, routes, distances and elevations are estimates drawn from catalogs, models and map data, and they can be wrong. They help you plan; they do not replace your own judgement, local knowledge, official warnings or the conditions you meet on the trail. You are responsible for your own safety.
Map and weather data
Maps use OpenStreetMap data © OpenStreetMap contributors. Forecasts come from Open-Meteo and terrain from the Copernicus DEM. These sources have their own terms and may change or be unavailable.
The service
We keep improving Trekking Armory and may change, pause or end features. The service is provided as it is, without guarantees of availability or accuracy. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for decisions made on the strength of its data.
Ending your use
You can stop using the site at any time; to delete your account and its data, write to us. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Changes
When these terms change, we update the date above. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
